Kenneth W. Doss, after his graduation from Ohio State University with a major in
finance, and the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, was appointed in 1970
a Clerk of the Michigan Court of Appeals. As clerk Mr. Doss reviewed and researched
the law for cases appealed to the Court of Appeals from lower courts.
In 1971, Mr. Doss was appointed as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Grand
Rapids Michigan. In 1972 he joined the Kent County Prosecutors Office as Assistant
Prosecutor. In 1973 he was in private practice in Grand Rapids, where he was primarily
involved in commercial litigation.
In 1974, Mr. Doss spent a year in New York as a business advisor to companies regarding
their business and financial operations.
In 1975, Mr. Doss moved to Holland to start a private practice. Mr. Doss has represented
clients in most areas of the law. Over the years he has chosen to restrict his areas
of practice to estate planning, probate, real estate, include residential, commercial
and industrial and condominium associations, business organizations, including corporations
and limited liability companies, relating to businesses such as employee issues,
contracts, investments, succession planning, sales and acquisitions of business.
Mr. Doss also represents clients in civil proceedings before various courts.
Mr. Doss is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and the Real Property, Estate
Planning, Elder Law, Business Law, Litigation sections and Management of the Michigan
Bar Association, and Ottawa County Bar Association. He is also a partner of the
Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
In addition to his legal associations, Mr Doss has been involved in civic, business,
and arts organizations including Director of the Holland Chamber of Commerce, President
and Director of the Holland Area Arts Council, and a member of the City of Holland
Cultural and Leisure Commission.
